Jennifer Brooke

Consulting Landscape Designer

Jennifer is a founding partner and principal designer at Lemon|Brooke, a Massachusetts based landscape architecture practice. She is also a regular consultant to the Institute for Human Centered Design, where her expertise as both an award winning-designer and the dedicated parent of a sensory and mobility challenged child are brought to bear on the challenges of creating aesthetically compelling and universally accessible spaces. Her diverse experience encompasses a wide range of project types including cultural institutions, campus plans, parks and playgrounds. Her professional emphasis has always been on the seamless integration of form and functionality.

Jennifer has had an active academic background and held a tenured teaching appointment at the University of California Berkeley where she developed and taught graduate courses in Ecological Planning and Design, Grading and Drainage, and Landscape History as well as graduate theory seminars. She also held an adjunct faculty position at California College of Art where she taught Site Design in the Architecture department. Her interests in academia remain intact and are only temporarily supplanted by her primary role as a fierce advocate for her children. Jennifer earned a BFA at Parsons School of Design in New York City and a MLA from Harvard University, in Cambridge MA.
