IHCD will host "The Symposium on Socially Sustainable Design: Boston Builds on Inclusive London 2012."

This project is a day-long inclusive cities symposium within Architecture Boston Expo (ABX) and a complementary 24-hour Design Challenge for design students and young practitioners focused on the design of "Olympic Boulevard." London's leadership made the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games a catalyst for creating an international model of an inclusive city across the diversity of ability, age, and culture. With Boston as the likely US candidate competing for the 2024 Olympics, London offers a precedent for delivering a legacy of cutting-edge inclusive design.

IHCD's Inclusive Sports Initiative Celebrates the ECAC's Historic Decision to Add Varsity Sports Opportunities for Student-Athletes with Disabilities

On January 15, 2015, the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Board of Directors adopted an inclusive sport strategy that will provide new intercollegiate athletic opportunities for student-athletes with a variety of disabilities attending ECAC member colleges and universities in Division I, II and III. By taking this pioneering action, the ECAC becomes the first NCAA sanctioned conference to provide a range of options for students with disabilities to realize their dreams of competing as intercollegiate varsity athletes.
