Jean is a third-year doctoral student in Occupational Therapy at MGH Institute for Health Professions, with a focus on promoting function and independence through accessible, client-centered care for individuals navigating disability, illness, or disease at any stage of life. Drawing on his background in sports, he has a particular interest in the intersection of physical activity, aging, and accessibility. At the Institute for Human Centered Design (IHCD), Jean uses his occupational therapy expertise to assess how the physical environment impacts daily function and independence, particularly for people with disabilities and the aging population. Through his work, he aims to connect healthcare and design, advocating for spaces that foster inclusion and enable individuals to fully participate in their communities, while exploring how occupational therapists and designers can collaborate to create environments that enhance accessibility and support active aging.
