Tiffany is a 3rd-year doctoral student at MGH Institute for Health Professions studying Occupational Therapy. Her education and clinical experiences focus on promoting independence through accessible, client-centered care for people who may experience disability, disease, or illness throughout the lifespan. Growing up in the Greater Boston Area, Tiffany’s passion for accessibility and placemaking to preserve everyday cultural, communal spaces stems from her experience volunteering at local community organizations.
At IHCD, Tiffany contributes to research and design initiatives that enhance accessibility in public and private spaces. She applies her background in occupational therapy to analyze how the built environment impacts daily function and independence for individuals with disabilities. Through this experience, Tiffany aims to bridge the gap between healthcare and design, advocating for spaces that empower all individuals to engage meaningfully in their communities. She hopes to develop a deeper understanding of how designers and occupational therapists can utilize their shared focus on improving accessibility for people with disabilities to promote inclusive design.
