Description
My Bent Tree is a hardcover picture book for children approximately ages 3-9. It's a story told in rhyming verse about diversity, overcoming adversity, friendship, social action, loyalty, ecology, and conservation. The theme is GREEN. It contains questions in the back for parents and teachers about diversity and trees. The pictures are very vibrant. Parents, teachers, and children love the story; younger children like the rhyme, while the older children understand the messages. The story shows that even if we are different, we can be okay: "Sometimes we are fine in spite of our dents." It is printed in the United States on recycled paper. The Perkins School for the Blind has made My Bent Tree into a talking book, and a Braille edition for readers who are blind or visually impaired is in progress.
