Sociology and Architectural Design

In this work Professor Zeisel outlines a potentially fruitful perspective for cooperation between architects and sociologists by discussing how social science research can aid the design process, and by stressing the value of both before and after studies of design projects. This study hopes to be provocative both in its recommendations for future research and training programs as well as in its appeal to social scientists to increase their concern with questions of how physical environment relates to behaviour.
