Colin lives in Melrose, a small town north of Boston. He studies communication at the University of Massachusetts Boston. Colin has a visual disability which he has had to overcome and work through to achieve his goals throughout his life. His current employment is at the Residence at Melrose Station where he works in the kitchen. His experience there has helped him learn how to work and advocate for the elderly and disabled, including people with eyesight and hearing loss, as well as people in wheelchairs. He has also worked with the Massachusetts Commission for the Blind where he has learned about accessible design for the legally blind population by using tools such as magnifiers, and assistive technology. Colin hopes to utilize his skills with the IHCD to help further the inclusivity and accessibility of design for a diverse population of people of all abilities.
