Hannah has deep experience at the juncture of the arts, disability and accessibility. Initially she worked as a teaching artist in educational settings, and then at the MFA, Boston, from 2001 through 2020, where she was the Manager of Accessibility. At the MFA Hannah was responsible for thinking about Access across the institution. During her tenure she expanded accessibility infrastructure, implemented new accessible and inclusive programming, conducted trainings, and collaborated with staff on a variety of initiatives across the Museum from policy changes to creating more inclusive opportunities, including via technology and during community events. At the heart of it all has been the belief that the arts belong to everyone, with choice and equity essential. Hannah has led trainings locally, nationally and internationally and won multiple awards for her work in the field. She is also a co-founder and steering committee member of CANE (Cultural Access New England). Since leaving the MFA, Hannah has been working independently; for 3 years as the LEAD Content Coordinator for the Leadership Exchange in Arts and Disability Conference hosted by the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, as Cultural Access and Inclusion Specialist with Open Door Arts, assessment and/or training for various museums and cultural organizations, and a few previous projects with the Institute of Human Centered Design. She holds a BFA from Tufts University/School of the Museum of Fine Arts, and MFA from Massachusetts College of Art, and was part of an exchange program with Instituto Superior Del Arte in Habana, Cuba while in graduate school. Hannah is very excited to join the IHCD Team!
