Lina is a Boston native who found her way to design through local organizations where she learned the value of social responsibility in design. Before joining IHCD, she studied Interaction Design and Entrepreneurship at The George Washington University while gaining experience in UX/digital product design in health insurance, restaurant-tech, and ed-tech industries.
At IHCD, she contributes to multi-disciplinary projects for digital and built environments, education initiatives, and is expanding the user/expert database with an emphasis on communities of color. Her design interests are centered around investigating the impact of positionality in design and ways to implement culturally relevant design to provide individualized support and resources that address systemic problems. As she continues her design journey at IHCD and the MS Experience Design program at Northeastern University, she’s looking forward to learning about how interactions between social issues and design affect the quality of life to create better outcomes that promote community healing and well-being.
In her free time, Lina loves playing with her two cats, Tofu and Pudding, and making them her entire personality because they are so cute that everyone must know about them.
