Originally from Southern Maine, Shannon is a master's student at Northeastern University in Boston, specializing in Experience Design with a focus on user experience and service design. Her education has introduced her to the importance of inclusive design, where she advocated for digital accessibility as part of the first accessibility team at Northeastern's student-led design studio, Scout. Passionate about leveraging design to bring social impact, particularly in healthcare, Shannon volunteers at BIDMC's Division of Digital Psychiatry, evaluating mobile apps for mental health. She also leads an interdisciplinary team of Northeastern students on a service design project bringing a community health van to rural Maine. At IHCD, Shannon is eager to apply her experience in user research to the User/Expert Lab and deepen her understanding of inclusive design in the physical and architectural environment.
