On Our Own: A Project to Introduce High School Students with Physical Disabilities to Public Transportation Ridership in New York City

This project appears to be the only one in New York which has developed a transportation skills course to remedy the complex and inaccessible system of New York's public transportation structure. The project aims to address the fear and anxieties expressed by both students and parents to increase ridership of accessible subways and buses and increase opportunities of young adults with physical disabilities.
