Report of the Task Panel on Role of the Arts in Therapy and Environment

In this final report, we outline the importance of the arts in the promotion of mental health, which we take to indicate satisfactory levels of personal and community vitality. We also outline the importance of the arts in the prevention of mental illness, especially for those we consider 'at risk' where such vitality is impaired, deficient or I n decline - but has not reached a level of diagnosed mental illness. Finally, we outline the importance of the arts in the treatment of the mentally or emotionally ill.
