Description
This volume takes a broad step in addressing visible and invisible disabilities. It expands disabilities beyond the more obvious physical disabilities to include cognitive, emotional, and those that we may not typically describe as disabilities e.g. substance abuse, irritable bowel syndrome, eating disorders etc. It includes concerns of women, ethnic minorities, lesbians, social situations that complicate issues and neglect and bias faced by women with disabilities and situations that increase their vulnerability, risk and safety.
