Join us for an informative session with Dr. Oce Harrison on "How the American Disabilities Act Applies to Addiction, Recovery, and Employment with SUD Diagnosis" with the National Spanish Addiction Training Center.
This session aims to educate people in recovery from addiction on their civil rights under the ADA. The ADA ensures that people with addiction to alcohol and those in recovery from opioids and other drugs have the same rights and opportunities as everyone else.
During this session, you'll learn about the ADA's definition of disability and how it applies to addiction and recovery. You'll also discover the differences in how the ADA applies to people with addiction to alcohol and those in recovery from opioids and other drugs. The session will illustrate these differences with scenarios about alcohol, opioids, cocaine, and marijuana.
The session will also cover how the ADA applies to addiction in three phases of employment: pre-offer, post-offer, and employment. You'll learn about the protections the ADA provides in access to employment, state and local government services, and places of public accommodations.
RSVP now to secure your spot.
Clinicians, providers, administrators, and leadership are highly encouraged to participate in this session to learn more about ADA protection rights. Don't miss out on this opportunity to gain valuable knowledge and insights.
