IHCD is thrilled to announce the appointment of Taciana Ribeiro Saab, our new Director of the New England ADA Center (NEADA), as of November 16th. Taciana brings a wealth of experience and passion for creating positive change in disability justice. She steps into the role ably held by Oce Harrison since 2001. Oce will remain with the NEADA as Manager of Special Projects.

Previously a key member of the senior management team at the Boston Center for Independent Living (BCIL), Taciana played a central role in growing BCIL's anti-racism initiatives. As Program Manager, she spearheaded the establishment of a satellite office in Dorchester, fostering outreach and services for Boston's Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPoC) consumers. Taciana's leadership extended to overseeing the Information and Referral Department and growing the organization's anti racism initiatives.

Her leadership also extended to collaborating with NEADA Center in the first phase of a 5 year, NIDILRR funded research project guiding a diverse team of community researchers in developing innovative

Participatory Action Research survey and interview tools. The NEADA Center's goal is to understand BIPoC consumers' perspectives around disability, awareness of civil rights under the Americans with Disabilities Act, and improved methods of sharing ADA information.

Taciana's journey, marked by resilience and advocacy, showcases her commitment to social and economic justice. From her early experiences as an immigrant to championing workplace safety legislation and disability rights. Taciana's life has been dedicated to fighting for a fair and inclusive society.

We look forward to the positive impact Taciana will undoubtedly bring to the New England ADA Center, reinforcing our commitment to civil rights and equity.

Welcome, Taciana!
